To share knowledge about French sawn timber and promote it for export

FrenchTimber, an association created in 2001 at the initiative of the Fédération Nationale du Bois, is supported by the French timber industry through the interprofessional organisation France Bois Forêt. With this support from the industry, FrenchTimber has been working since 2007 to develop French exports of French sawn timber and wood products through promotional activities. Les Scieries du Centre, an exporter of French sawn timber, has long been a member of FrenchTimber.

Douglas fir, an exceptional softwood species particularly suited to timber construction applications, is one of Les Scieries du Centre's main products. Its membership of France Douglas, an association of professionals promoting this softwood species since 1993, is therefore only natural.

This association carries out important initiatives in the fields of standardisation, research and information transfer regarding this species, and implements a communication programme involving all stakeholders in this professional sector.
