Our product range

Fir and spruce, Scots pine and Douglas fir lumber are the main products of Les Scieries du Centre.

The softwood lumber produced by Les Scieries du Centre, resulting from the processing of wood sourced exclusively from the high-altitude forests of the Massif Central and mature plantations, managed using non-intensive forestry practices - which guarantees heartwood-rich timber characterised by slow growth and high mechanical strength - combines all the strength and aesthetic qualities of these species. Fir, spruce and Douglas fir are particularly used in construction for applications requiring high, verifiable mechanical strength (Strength Class C24). These species are also suitable, provided they meet rigorous appearance grading requirements, for applications requiring high surface aesthetic qualities (Appearance Grade 2). For uses in structural and exposed applications, sawn timber can be sorted to select wood with high mechanical strength (C24 grading) as well as superior appearance qualities (Appearance Grade 21). High-quality Scots pine sawn timber (boules) is available for joinery applications. The quality of the timber supplied and the company's sawing equipment are geared towards "large-diameter timber": sawing long lengths and large cross-sections is therefore one of the standard productions of Les Scieries du Centre.

Equipped with a planing facility and kilns, Les Scieries du Centre can supply timber pieces with a perfect finish, including large cross-section timber; particularly for all uses in traditional timber framing.

Lastly, these wood species account for a predominant share of the timber used to manufacture crates and packaging.
